editing, PLAYWRITING, AND DRAMATURGICAL services
For the past six years, I have been a consultant at the Center for Excellence in Writing at the University at Buffalo. There, I have helped countless undergraduate and graduate students alike achieve their academic and writing goals. Recently, due to high demand, I have decided to offer editing services (both traditional editing and tutor-style editing) at a reasonable price to anyone in need.
Additionally, I also offer private playwriting instruction and dramaturgical feedback. Whether you have a full-length play you would like feedback on, or you would like to try your hand at writing a ten-minute play for the first time, I have sessions that will suit your needs.
Editing Services Include:
Traditional Editing for Fiction and Non-Fiction (Not done in a tutoring session):
Developmental Editing - An in-depth edit of your entire document including structural issues, writing style, phrasing, and word choice.
Copy Editing / Proofreading - Addresses grammatical or punctuation errors, factual errors, word choice issues, inconsistencies, and typos.
Editorial Assessment - First overview of a manuscript including in depth feedback on structure, plot, character, style, and word choice. This assessment is designed to lead to your first major rewrite.
For Academic Work and Tutoring (Done in a tutoring session)
CV and Resume creation/editing
Letter writing
Graduate school statements of purpose/intent
Scientific paper and publication editing
Research/Seminar papers or essays written within the humanities
Learning and implementation of citation styles (MLA, APA or Chicago)
Brainstorming or paper outlining
Private Playwriting Instruction and Dramaturgical Feedback INCLUDES:
Dramaturgical services: For this type of session, I will read your play before we meet, so make sure to upload your play on the intake form! During the session, will spend the hour sharing feedback on character development, structure, plot, rewriting strategies, or anything else you might need.
Playwriting instruction: During this 60 minute session, there is no need to prepare anything beforehand. The session is equivalent to taking a private playwriting class with me. If you would like specific topics covered, feel free to list them on the intake sheet.
APPOINTMENT TYPES AND Rates:
Developmental Editing/Copyediting/Proofreading/Editorial Assessment: $50 per hour (with packages available)

In-person academic editing session on Zoom with Google Docs: $45 per hour.
Private in-person playwriting instruction on Zoom: $60 dollars per hour
Full-length Play Dramaturgical services on Zoom: $95 per hour
These appointments must be made at least 10 days ahead of time
One-Act Play Dramaturgical services on Zoom (20-45pgs): $60 dollars per hour
These appointments must be made at least one week ahead of time
Ten-minute Play Dramaturgical Services on Zoom (8-15pgs): $40 dollars per hour
These appointments must be made at least 48 hours head of time
